5 self care tips for lockdown 3.0

Lockdown 3.0 has hit us in the UK. Some of us are alone, some of us are putting ourself on the frontline and some of us are home schooling children. We need to make sure we are taking care of ourselves. We’ve got 5 tips to keep you strong, healthy and focused over the next couple of months.   1.

Lockdown 3.0 has hit us in the UK. Some of us are alone, some of us are putting ourself on the frontline and some of us are home schooling children. We need to make sure we are taking care of ourselves.

We've got 5 tips to keep you strong, healthy and focused over the next couple of months.

 

1. Phone a friend 📞

You may not want to bother anyone and feel you're getting in their way. Truth is, they are probably thinking the same thing. 

To the person who needs someone to talk to - Your friend will be so happy you called, you'll feel some relief having shared your thoughts/feelings with someone else.

To the friend who answered - That 5 minute phone call has made their day. You gave your time and that's the most caring thing you can do.

Here at Stix we love to video call with each other and check in. Working from home can be quiet so we spend a few extra minutes to discuss something other than work and help each other through these times. 

 

2 Take an extra moment 💓

We can get lost inside our 4 walls when stuck at home and fall into an unnecessary routine.

Take a few extra moments when you wake up in the morning before you reach out for your phone and check the news or your socials. 

Get comfortable in your seat and feel your surroundings before you open your laptop to start working.

Taking that extra moment between tasks or activities can help you feel more grounded and relaxed.

 

3. Get out the house 🚶

Whether its a 10 minute stroll around the block or 30 minute HIIT session, try and do it outside.

Fresh air is good.

A 10 minute walk can help you clear your min and calm your racing thoughts. Or even a yoga session in the back garden can help you feel those same benefits.  

But if you're into fitness as much as our Chief Hydrator Tom, then a 30 minute run outdoors is a great way to get your blood flowing too. 

 

4. Be Selfish 🧁 

Okay, so we all try to set new years resolutions. We all want to be a little bit healthier, we all want to do some more exercise. But, this is the year you can get away with not being so tough on yourself. You're going through a lot, enjoy an extra slice of chocolate cake now and again! Spend those extra 10 minutes in bed to yourself.

Self care can come in many forms!

5. Drink Water 💧💧💧

Lockdown in winter really does suck! We can easily hide in bed all day. 

But if you do decide to have one of those days where you don't want to do a'lot, make sure water becomes your best friend. It is so important to stay hydrated. Check out all the benefits of H2O here.
