How to stay hydrated.
We’ve been told by many people to keep drinking water and to stay hydrated, but how many of us can actually say we are drinking the right amount a day? Do you even know how much water you need?
We are going to share with you the many benefits as to why drinking water, and the right amount of water, is important. You can even drink some water while you read!
Importance of drinking water and hydration:
Drinking water helps to lubricate, protect, and cushions your joints, spinal cord and tissues. You’ll notice when exercising you’ll feel less pain and discomfort in your legs, ankles, shoulders, and arms.
Eliminate the bad toxins in your body by flushing them out sweat, urine, and bowel movements. For example, to regulate your body's temperature you’ll sweat when you are hot. Therefore, you need to drink more water so your body still has the right amount.
BOOST YOUR MOOD
Did you know dehydration can make anyone feel anxious, fatigued, and confused? The greater the water consumption = better mood. Drinking enough water can improve your sleep and keep you positive day to day. So if you’re feeling down, have a glass of water.

Eat variety of fresh fruit and vegetables:
It is estimated that about 20% of our daily water intake comes from foods.
All foods contain some water. Fruits and vegetables top the list with 80-98% water. Some of the fruits and vegetables with the highest water content include watermelon, strawberries, cantaloupe, cucumber, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, and spinach.
Know when you are dehydrated:
It can sometimes be hard to tell when you’re dehydrated, so we’ve put together a short list of signs to look out for:
Yellow or dark-colored urine
Low blood pressure
Drink the right amount of water:
The Institute of Medicine recommends 91 fluid ounces for women (11-12 cups per day) and 125 fluid ounces for men (15-16 cups per day). This may sound like a lot, but these amounts include fluid from all beverages (water, juice, milk, soda, coffee, tea, and even beer and wine!), and the water naturally occurring in our foods.
Drink other beverages if necessary:
